The SelfCareHub Founder Story

This Is for You

If you’ve been in pain for a long time—
If you’ve tried everything, but nothing seems to work—
If you’re starting to wonder if maybe this is just how life will be now—
I want you to know: I see you.

I’ve met so many patients like you.
People who have spent years in and out of clinics, feeling misunderstood.
Who have been told it's all in their head—or worse, left without answers at all.
People who’ve tried to stay strong, keep functioning, and pretend they’re okay, while pain quietly takes more and more from their lives.

If that’s you, you’re not alone. And more importantly: you're not broken.

I know how this feels—not just as a physiotherapist, but as a human.
I’ve been in that place of doubt. Years ago, I started questioning everything I had been taught. I saw patients with the same diagnosis respond completely differently to treatment. One would improve. The next wouldn’t change at all or even get worse over time.

I began to feel frustrated with them, but more so with myself.
Why couldn’t I help them? Why did I feel like I was just guessing?
And while I was trying to help others, I couldn’t even explain the pain in my own neck. It would flare up unpredictably, stay for days, and make no sense—just like so many of my patients told me about their own pain.

That’s when everything changed.

I moved from Sweden to Australia to pursue two Master’s degrees in Sports and Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy. And it was there that I finally learned what no one had ever taught me—not in any of my previous education, despite working every day with people in pain:

Pain isn’t just about the body. Pain is a message, Not a source.

It’s about the state of the nervous system.
It's about the system's perception of itself and certain structures - their safety or danger.
It can be about sleep, exercise, beliefs, fear, memory, and the meaning pain has for us. It can be our unhelpful relationships, perfectionism and grief. It is complex, it's unique for every one of us, yet it can be simple to change once you understand the nervous system.

Pain is real. And it’s changeable.

And once you understand what’s really going on—your whole life can begin to shift.

That’s what happened to me. I finally understood my own pain. And I finally understood how to truly help others get unstuck.

Not by fixing them. But by helping them reclaim their own power.
By giving them the knowledge and tools to understand what’s happening in their body—and how to influence it.

That’s what The Self-Care Hub is here for.

This is a space for anyone who’s been stuck in pain, overwhelmed by information, and unsure who to trust.
It’s for the person who’s done the scans, taken the meds, paid for all the appointments—and still doesn’t feel better.
It’s for the person who’s afraid they’ll never feel strong or free again.

I created this space for you.

Inside, you’ll find the clearest, most impactful tools and insights I’ve gathered over the years—information I wish every person in pain could access from day one.
Not as a quick fix. But as a new way forward.

Because you are not broken.
And you don’t have to navigate this alone.

You have more power than you’ve been led to believe. And I’d be honoured to help you rediscover it.

All my best,

Elena,
